In our recent AI in Training & Development Certification Program, we tested an idea that sparked real curiosity — and a few raised eyebrows.
We ran a live skills practice session. Two participants delivered a 1-minute speech each.
Then, we turned to AI for feedback.
Not vague or robotic responses. But structured insights like:
· What worked well
· What could be improved
· Even a score — based on pre-defined success criteria
Here’s the catch — it wasn’t random.
Just like in an assessment centre, we trained the AI beforehand:
· Defined success clearly
· Aligned on behavioural indicators
· Calibrated what “good” looks like
· Built in fairness and objectivity
As someone who has run countless assessment centres, it struck me:
AI isn’t replacing assessors. It’s adding perspective.
A second lens.A new voice. One that speeds up feedback and deepens reflection — instantly.
Of course, the human touch still matters.Coaching. Nuance. Safe space for growth.
But this is just the beginning.
Imagine a future where AI sits beside you in the training room — accelerating skill building, enriching practice, and making learning more dynamic and personalised.
The future of L&D isn’t humans vs AI.It’s humans with AI — creating better learning together.
