Conflicts in the workplace may arise as a result of misunderstanding and miscommunications. With greater insights into behaviors and personalities of ourselves and others, we can better adapt to each others, leading to less conflicts, better communications, more effective relationships and teamwork, hence higher productivity and performance. This is where the DISC personality test kicks in.
The DISC personality test, which is based on Dr. William Moulton Marston's DISC theory, has been used to assess and classify people's behavioral styles into Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness by looking at their preference on two scales - Task versus People and Fast-Paced versus Moderate-Paced. In work teams, this assessment not only allows team members to better understanding themselves and others but also help them learn to interact with colleagues with different personalities and behavioral styles. They can also know how to leverage their strengths at work for better performance. The tool brings positive impact to both individuals and organizations.
