Meet Myra, a Year 9 student who joined us behind the scenes.
She stepped in to support our Strengths Discovery Programme — helping design flipchart layouts, assist the class alongside another intern, and bring learning to life through her own creative lens.
After the session, we invited her to reflect on the experience.
Here’s what she wrote.
We didn’t edit a single word — this is her voice, her lens, her discovery.
When I first heard that I was going to work as a job shadower for a day at Talent Academy, I was beyond surprised. To be completely frank, I didn’t have much idea what to expect.
But after stepping in and learning more about the Strengths Discovery Programme, I was very interested in the topic and understood about it. The whole process was as if I was a diamond miner who was discovering unique jewels — the 34 personality types!
Everyone has their own special characteristics, which is what makes it stand out. Not everyone is the same, but they are their own person, shining with their traits they bring to the table, and together, while working as team, they could even sparkle brighter.
In this one day program, I’m very glad that I got to piece together these gems and create pages filled with illustrations of my own to turn it all into colourful visuals to make it all come to life.
Along with another intern that I had the great opportunity to collaborate with, it was an unforgettable, once in a lifetime memory that will surely be forever imprinted in my mind!
It was truly wonderful seeing everyone understand their own personal strengths; which not only making individuals radiate in their own way, but also makes teamwork feel like looking at a crown of dazzling diamonds!
