Ivy Cheung

​

Dr. Ivy Cheung is a Clinical Psychologist and seasoned Corporate Trainer with over 20 years of experience designing and delivering a wide range of workshops, particularly on emotional intelligence and resilience.

 

Renowned for her ability to integrate psychological principles into workplace practices, Dr. Cheung offers a distinctive and insightful approach to management development. She specializes in applying psychological assessments and utilizing tools such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Social Style to enhance personal effectiveness and cultivate deeper self-awareness among frontline professioinals and managers.

 

As an accomplished facilitator, she skillfully employs role-play and diverse facilitation techniques to create engaging, impactful learning experiences that provide participants with valuable and enduring insights.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Prior to joining the team, Ivy spent a decade with the Hospital Authority (HA) Head Office training team, where she made significant contributions to talent development and leadership training. Her key achievements at HA include

  • Talent Management: Oversaw initiatives to groom executives for senior leadership roles.

  • Chief of Service (COS) Curriculum Development: Led the design and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum that included four training classes, three e-learning modules, tailored webinars, and a dedicated website.

  • Management Training Programs: Designed and developed two management curricula for experienced frontline professionals.

  • Diverse Course Offerings: Delivered over 20 unique courses covering topics such as managing emotions at work, leading self, coaching, situational leadership, authentic leadership, stress management, communication skills, MBTI workshops, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, conflict management, team building and presentation skills etc.

  • Outstanding Participant Feedback: Achieved an average participant rating of over 5.3 out of 6.

  • Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University California School of Professional Psychology

  • Masters in Counseling from Monash University

  • Master in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong

  • Certified Practitioner in a variety of Psychometric Tools, MBTI, FIRO-B

  • Certified “7 habit of highly effective people” program facilitator

  • Certified “Whatzyourpoint” program facilitator

    • Ivy also served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Worcester from  2023 to  2025 for the MSc in Business Psychology program, organized by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA). She designed and delivered the Well-Being module, which covered key topics including positive psychology, resilience, and emotional intelligence. Ivy received outstanding feedback, achieving an impressive teacher performance rating of 5.73 out of 6 in 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT'S MORE

Ivy served as a part-time lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2024, teaching in the MSc in Obstetrics and Gynecology program. She designed and delivered the Positive Psychology module, offering insights into the application of psychological principles in healthcare.

 

Currently, Ivy is the Clinical Psychologist (Advisory) at the Joyful (Mental Health) Foundation, where she provides treatment for clients with a wide range of mental health disorders and contributes to the development of the organization’s clinical services.

 

Ivy leads a public class titled Executive Certificate in MBTI-Driven Leadership Excellence at the Hong Kong Management Association, focusing on the use of MBTI to enhance leadership effectiveness.
